Pediatric Dentistry

Forgive me if this topic has come up before, but I'm looking for a good pediatric dentist in St. Mary's County (preferably near Leonardtown). I realize there are few who specialize in working with children, so if your child has had a good experience with an "adult" dentist, I'd love to hear about it. This will be my daughter's first visit and I really want it to be a positive one!

My daughter goes to Juambeltz and Radescka (spell?) in Dunkirk, but I believe they have an office in Leonardtown.

Dr. Jaumbeltz is great. I am sure he is open 2 or 3 days a week. They have TV's for the kids to watch while getting a cleaning. Always has been super to my daughter. I started taking her shortly after her teeth were coming in.

How old was your daughter when you first started taking her?

Can't recall off the top of my head, but our "family" dentist referred us there when my daughter needed a ton of work done (she inheirited her dad's bad teeth poor thing).

Radesca/Juambeltz are wonderful with my 3 toddlers. We go to the Dunkirk office.

My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist thanks to these dentists and their staff. We go next month for all the kids routine cleanings.

I took my first son when he was two and the twins when they were one. They said I could have brought the kids in as soon as their first teeth came in.

I started with Dr. Radesca and staff when she was in the Morgan Building. She left that practice in Mechanicsville. We went with the Charlotte Hall Practice, across from the farmer's market. nice but 2 dentists left unexpectedly, hence no new patients currently being taken as of August. My boys were seen this summer. yet they won't take my 3 Yo daughter. The boys went before they were 2. I had an apointment this summer for my daughter and was informed she couldn't be seen at this time. It's unfortuneate since it's right near the kids' school.

I may have to go back to Radesca if she is in Leonardtown.

I love the place in Charlotte Hall that's where my munchkins go and they get excited every time we go. I didn't know they lost two dentists though. That's kind of terrible though if they take two but not the other, I can see them not taking someone completely new.

:yay:Dr Juambeltz. I took my daughter when she was 18 months. She even let him clean her teeth with flouride and a tooth brush.

I know that you asked for leonardtown, but I must say Dr. Heffner in waldorf is exceptional!!! he does what he calls "happy" visits, where the child just comes and sits in the chair, colors, talks to the parrot, and has a good time. My daughter had extensive work done, so he did a couple of happy visits to get her ready for the work, but by the time she was there to get work done, she knew the dentist and staff so well she did not put up a fight and the visit was smooth.
