People who come up on the Caller ID as "Unknown Caller". I figure people only do that because they know I don't want to talk to them and will screen their call. Either that or it's a telemarketer. So I never answer the phone when it's an "Unknown Caller".

I do exactly the same thing. It never fails the phone rings non stop from the time I get home until I go to bed. When I get fed up I just turn the ringer off.

Actually unknown caller most often means that they are out of the caller ID service area. Anonymous is what will be displayed if they are blocking caller ID, by using *67.

Some cell phones will do that, too.
I once had a "restricted" call on my cell and it gave a funny ring. I didn't answer it, nor did it leave the number as a missed call.

I keep getting a phone call meant for some other guy. Like, the phone will ring and when I answer it, it's a recording that says, "You have a recorded message to *Bob Smith* (in a human voice) from *Stanley*. To hear your recorded message, press one."

This has happened every day for the last week or so. I just hang up because it's going to be a recorded message from this guy, not talking to him live, and my only choices are to accept the call or hang up. There's no option to somehow tell them they have a wrong number.

I'm upset because I'm imagining some guy stationed in Iraq whose buddy has been injured or something and he's desperately trying to get ahold of the guy's Dad. But I'm afraid to go ahead and hear the message because maybe it's one of those scams where they trick you into accepting charges, then you get a bill for $1,000 or something.

I keep getting messages from LPVRS for some guy who must be, or was, a member. I have even called them and told them they have the wrong number, and they still call.

Good thing I never answer my home phone. :ohwell:

Tele-Zapper. None of the telemarket messages even make it to my voicemail. At work I still get calls from drunks who want me to do their taxes TODAY DAMM!T.
