You know, I did spend half my schooling in Catholic schools and I was taught by nuns and priests - and I was raised Catholic until I was 18.

It's kind of my understanding that the Catholic church officially opposes abortion. At least, it was all the time I grew up. If you're going to get all up about the archbishop's decision, it's first rate STUPID to oppose it on moral or religious grounds. Dogma doesn't change.

On the other hand, there are easily millions of Catholics who have HAD abortions. I don't know of any Catholic directive that punishes THEM for doing so, even if it's against what they teach.

I'm not familiar with popes kicking bishops out over a decision. That's how the left deals with things. In that respect, they are as unmoving as dogma.

No, but the Pope did refer to Abortion as Murder

Catholics are against theft, cursing and any of the Ten Commandments, and thousands of Catholics break all of the Commandments including murder, and receive no form of punishment from the Church.

But if Catholics take a public stance that breaking the Commandments is just fine and all right to do, then it's time they either left the Church or got punished.

I'm not sure where you're going with this - what I am saying is, if the Examiner were being INTELLIGENT, they'd go on the basis of thousands, perhaps millions of Catholics are in favor of abortion and have had them - and yet no one forbids them from Communion. Nancy Pelosi is as openly pro-choice as the other Catholic Democrats.

TECHNICALLY - if you are married in the Catholic Church - and get divorced - the Catholic Church does not recognize the civil act of divorce. As far as they are concerned, you're still married. You may pursue an annulment. But if you divorce and either re-marry or become involved with someone else - since they regard you as still married - you're committing adultery and therefore - may not receive communion.

And I got news for Catholic leaders - they got a LOT of divorced and remarried Catholics whose marriages were not annulled. And they're having communion because no one is stopping them.

Being a public figure puts your views & record out there for all to see. As for the rest of us the Catholic church doesn't keep a data base of their sins, or at least not that I know of.

Well that much is clear - I also know that Dick Durbin doesn't participate at HIS church, largely because HE was told he couldn't, and being a public figure, doing it anyway would draw too much attention and invite controversy. But lots of Democrats are Catholic and they don't get called out on it.

Leftist DC Archbishop Gregory Stands with Pelosi and Her Abortion to Birth Policies – Will Not Order Priests to Refuse Her Communion

But now this same leftist tool is defending Nancy Pelosi’s right to receive Communion despite her stand for abortion up to birth.

This letter from the Archbishop’s office was sent to the Washington Examiner.

Gregory will not instruct priests to deny Pelosi Communion.

The Washington Examiner added, In a September 2021 interview with Crux, Gregory said it was not the role of bishops to serve as “police.”
