People in the "Fast" lane in St. Mary's

Power with Control
I doubt anyone drives in the left lane just to piss you off. More likely they're not even thinking of you and possibly have no idea you even exist.

This is the problem with road rage drivers: they take everything so personal. Some absentminded soccer Mom makes a driving error and instead of simply saying, "Watch it, sis" and avoiding her, they have to make it their life's goal to scare the crap out of her and "pay her back". They're convinced that some guy who pulls out in front of them *meant* to target them specifically instead of the guy just not paying enough attention.

Chill out, people.
And here we have one of the real problems. If they are that unaware of thier surroundings, they really need to not be on the road. Again with the characterizations, I see. I'm not a "road rager", nor do I feel these people are out to get me. Nor do I try to get revenge on stupid/ignorant/lazy drivers. Not enough hours in the day, even if I were so inclined.

I'm not mad, or upset. I just shake my head, and move on with my life. Again, not everyone who disagrees with hogging the left lane is automatically a "rager". Some of us are just people who like to see people actually cooperate in making everyones drive easier.

All these complaints about local drivers, come from inexperienced drivers who have never left the friggin county!

I dare any of these local road ragers to bring their azz up the road! We'll show ya a thing or two!
How far "up the road"? Boston, perhaps, where I learned to drive? DC is kiddy cars compared to that. I've driven in the following countries. In order of difficulty/lack of safety

Sicily
Saudi Arabia
Philippines
El Salvador
Panama
Puerto Rico
Turkey
Japan
Israel
Iceland
Bermuda

And, yes, there are lots worse places than here. And places where they dump untreated sewage right into rivers that run through the town. Doesnt mean you should take care of bathroom breaks in the local stream and call it okay just becuase its not as bad as that other place. Two wrongs dont make a right.

Got the Saudi check in the box where right lane u-turns when the light turns green are common and a flashing red for him and flashing yellow for you means that you better hope that Allah is not color blind! :killingme

Road rage stems from driver etiquette.
The pokers in the left lane, the individuals who seem to be oblivious to their surroundings, the ones who complain about tail-gaters, being cut-off, the obscene gestures given to them, ect, are the primary cause of this phenomenon known as "road rage"..

If clear roads are ahead of you, but your rear view mirror looks like a traffic jamb-- Think for a second about what's causing the cluster behind ya..

I love Germany's stance on this issue.

...yah go; Flip out, lose your mind, get enraged; it's not YOUR fault. It's all those other cars, people you don't even know, who control YOUR emotions.

You have no business having a drivers license if you have no self control and if inanimate objects enrage you. Germany and the Autobahn are a far, far cry from rt. 235 dontcha think?

Think about what you're saying, my man!

Regardless of whether you "want" to drive in the left or right lane is not the issue. The Maryland Driver's Handbook states that the left lane is the "Police and Passing Lane" and should be used for passing and left turns by motorists, and should otherwise be left clear for easy use by emergency vehicles. So for those of you who want to take away the license of the person who made the original post, perhaps your license should be taken away as well, for you are not following what is listed in our driver's handbook!

Driver etiquette is what many drivers in SOMD are lacking. More like the entire atlantic region.. Some people intentionally impede the flow of traffic for some kind of just cause. From the many I have observed & spoken to, they are law book thumpers & feel empowered to cast their mighty sword upon thee.. "Eff-em, I'm going the speed limit" is a common statement I hear..

It's like farting in an elevator. Serves no purpose other than to pizz others off..

In Germany, the ones impeding the flow of traffic are the ones corrected by law enforcement.

Here, it's totally back-wards.

I can mal-funct the flow of traffic & law enforcement WILL only react to the ones acting in an aggressive manor.

What causes road rage & how are we addressing it??
Ponder that question, my man..

...many of us are poor drivers and it is far too easy, in my opinion, to get a license. That is one issue. One's control over one's emotions is another issue all together. By and large, most drivers are not out there to get you or me or single us out and ruin our day. Our reactions belong to us. Not some total stranger who is just doing the same thing we are; trying to get where they are going in one piece, safely.

In My Opinion
Are you kidding? There is hate flying all over this thread. I point something out, she replies, then I reply.
she?

I'm pretty much thinking that it is not me that is being referenced here.
or, could killjoy be a homosexual that for some reason is attracted to my buttocks area?

and another thing.

I don't suffer from road rage.
I cause it.

235 feels like the autobahn sometimes, smooth sailing.. Fond memories.. The days spent on the road w/ drivers who had etiquette..

Farting in the canned goods isle while moseying your way over to the frozen food section only pizzs off the ones behind ya..

Same scenario, different local..

Poor drivers is a poor excuse for etiquette. On that note, I guess all poor drivers fart in elevators..

It is far far too easy to get a license, I agree.

Bottom line w/ me, if someone is in the left lane going slower than the average speed of traffic, they are breeding road rage. And because of them, the term "Road Rage" was birthed..

Let me reiterate my topic of people in the fast lane from Mechanicsville to California. If you're going to talk on the phone and drive 45mph to 65mph in the fast lane, get the f*** over in the slow lane. You people are a menace. I like to drive 65mph, which would be the left lane. If I get a ticket, sobeit!

Do us a courtesy and pull your car over when you want to talk on the phone you tards! When I drive, well let's think about it...I DRIVE!.... WHEN I WANT TO TALK ON THE PHONE,.... I WAIT, AND GET TO WHERE I'M GOING and then talk on the phone!:burning:
I hate the fact that I have no cup holer in my vehicle, I had to have my 6 year old hold my latte and later that day beelzebaby666 hold my beer (that was a joke).

Seriously, I do applogize for my driving on south bound 235 outside of gate 1 today when I was trying to downshift, hold my latte and not stall out. I do need a new accelerator cable.

You, dude, are the problem but you will never see it. You will continue throughout your life to blame your own bad temper and anger on others and never take responsibility for your own reactions.

Have a nice life.

...the logic game, OK?

Do we agree that there will always be someone going slower than maybe they should be? Do we agree that there will always be rookie drivers, old folks, people not particularly comfortable in traffic in the first place? Agreed?
Do we agree lots of humans in limited spaces simply will have crowding issues?

IF a slow person in the fast lane is a given, if we KNOW that's gonna happen in our country, with our laws, with the way we do things, then that is a given, yes? Therefore our reaction to a given, a known factor is ours and ours alone. Yes?

If I have to stand in line at McDonald's at lunch time, I'm in a hurry, and yet another person in front of me is looking at the menu like it's the first time they've ever seen it, I knew that was gonna happen, right? So, if I start yelling at them, flipping them the bird and crowding them, who has a problem? Who is behaving poorly?
