Rocky Mountain High!!
I Got this email this morning...

A girl here at work just told me this morning her husband observed a lady driving a suv open dumping her dog out into traffic on Old Court road in Reisterstown, The dog ran behind her vehicle as she drove off.
So the husband was able to rescue the dog from being hit by incoming traffic but took the dog to Baltimore county Animal control and the dog only has until Monday before being put down. The dog appears to be only about 1 year old, very friendly and looks to be in good shape. Do either of you know of any boxer rescue that can get this dog out of there before Monday? They only keep dogs for 4 days apparently. Thanks for any help.

I don't know how anybody could do something so awful! I asked if he got a tag # but he was more worried about the dog.

DumbA** people...I can't stand reading things like that...poor dog, following alongside her vehicle...I'd be ready to :boxing: if I saw that happen...
If Unix is getting a boxer from CAWL, maybe they have an open spot for this boxer?
I could possibly volunteer transport if a rescue can take him...we are pretty full, actually overly full unless we get a couple more foster families...I'd check w/ CAWL, Humane Society of Calvert, ARF, PAWS, SMAWL...to see if they have any openings.

Does my butt look big?
I might be able to help find him a home or keep him for a while..Its hard though with 5 boxers in the house..as long as he is NOT a fighter..I can't deal with fights..

Wow that is heart breaking. I can go get him and take him to where ever. But right now I'm going to have my hands full for a month or so with Radar and Sash together. If things work out, I would take this one also. Has to be a boy tho. Sorry, Sash don't like to share Daddy with another female.

Where is KK when you need her.

If this is the shelter I think it is I've worked with them. I've sent them an email asking if they have this dog and if so do they have a picture. If they have it I'll get the scoop. They really do try to get dogs adopted.

Reply from the shelter....

Hi Kathy,

I just love how people see things but really don't see things, if you know what I mean?

We had numerous calls over this email today. We contacted the owner of the dog, (it was wearing tags). About the 5th. call over this dog being dumped by the owner, we asked the caller why would the owner dump the dog and then come here to redeem it? When the owner showed up we told the husband what we were hearing, he said his wife had a white suv and was trying to follow the dog to get it into the truck! She lost sight of the dog and called us to report the dog missing before it even got to the shelter. The dog was happy to see it's owner and the owner was happy we had the dog safe and sound, end of story. So the boxer is safe at home, probably taking a well deserved nap.

Appreciate you contacting me.

SO glad the pup is home! It WOULD be dumb for someone to dump a dog and leave it's tags on!! I've sent your printed email to the lady who forwarded it to me.

Update...Krazd Kat can you please confirm the owners actually picked the dog up? Another rescue group sent Nicole an email stating they have it because the owner did not retrieve it. I can give you Nicole's email if you'd like.

The email I received is from the lady that works at the Baltimore Animal Shelter, she's the one that would know...

When the owner showed up we told the husband what we were hearing, he said his wife had a white suv and was trying to follow the dog to get it into the truck!

Too many times these emails get crossed and confused due to the same breeds of dogs being in too many shelters.
