I just wanted to say thank-you to Mary Beth @ Pepper's Pet Pantry in Solomon's,MD for all her help on the weekends and for sponsoring our rescue dogs, personal and secondhoperescue.org animals. If anyone has not been to Pepper's pet store you really should give it a visit, I just noticed that the prices of her holistic dogfoods are very comparable to the other brands and all of my dogs just loved the samples!

I buy all of my pet food at Peppers's. My dog and cats devour the food and love any/all the treats I get for them. Pepper's is awesome! The prices are definately comparable and well worth it!

I've been thinking about switching to EVO cat food and have seen it there, does anyone know how much it runs per case?

Hmm...my cats hated it (the canned version). They do like Wellness (which is a good food and grain free). I switch between EVO and Wellness Core for the dry (also grain free). I can't remember what I paid for a can at Peppers.

Figures, the site calls it palatable as opposed to "they go nuts for it." I'm kind of surprised, with as much real meat they use. Maybe I'll pop over there and get a few smaller cans of it and Wellness and see how the boys react to it. I'd like to get them off of the by-products. And I always figured Purina Pro-Plan was supposed to be so good for them...

Can you get Wellness at Petco? Wet food?

Petco does sell Wellness canned and Wellness Core dry. It's not cheap. Peppers prices are better on Evo dry than Petco for same amount. I asked Frequent Flier to see about getting Wellness...not sure if she can.

Thanks for your kind words :huggy:

The distributor I buy food from does not carry Wellness but in the future I may try to carry it by special order. It will be difficult to compete with Petco's prices since they pay a lot less wholesale than I do. But, I DO have some of the exact same items they carry that are less expensive, like the filled bones.
Being next to the vet's office, there are many products I am not *allowed* to carry including a larger assortment of food.
