Before MTV, one was 'stuck' with the music and their own imagination and thus, each and every piece of music belonged to the individual, how it made them feel, what they imagined when they listened to the music and words, where it took them, how they appreciated it. We all listened to much wider varieties of music because of it.
Then, along comes MTV and you are told what to visualize. Thus, the dawn of horrible music as well as the Balkanization and strict categorization of music.
Now, RR may have stumbled onto the next big thing; music-less music! You watch the video and use your imagination to 'hear' it! Once again, music can belong to the listener!
