The Perseid meteor shower is happening now and will reach its peak from Aug. 11-13. Best viewing time should be that Monday night and Tuesday morning.

I saw a meteor streak across the sky this morning over the Suitland Parkway headed west. It was glowing green in the early lit sky and lasted about 4 seconds or so before it faded out. Pretty cool! 🤓

Very cool. Hope I can wake up and watch some of it, weather permitting.

Along the same lines, just saw on the news about a 3 hour train ride in Nevada that takes folks to the darkest nighttime place in the desert for star watching. Looks amazing. Seeing the Milky Way was something I used to be able to do as a kid, but haven't seen it due to light pollution in many many years. Spending a night in the desert to star watch has been on my bucket list for a long time.

I've seen 3 bright green meteors in my life, and each time there was a major good event that happened immediately after seeing it. Maybe you too?
