This Sunday, January 10, 2009, Saint Mary's Animal Welfare League will have pets for adoption from 12-3:30 PM. There will also be information available about fostering and upcoming low cost vaccination events, spaying and neutering. SMAWL - St. Mary's Animal Welfare League: Home Page


Sunday January 17, 2009, the Humane Society of Calvert County will have cats, kittens and dogs for adoption from 12-3:30 PM.

SMAWL has the following dogs scheduled to attend:

Cal and Boog are 2 10 week old Begale puppies that were a bandon

Misty Rain is a very loving and sweet 1 year old Spitz. and would love to be a lap dog. She great with other dogs, and kids too. Loves to cuddle and hopes to find a family to cuddle with every day!


Gibson – is a one year on Schnauzer/Pug

I agree with you catt. I also hope the 2 of them can be adopted together since they both look like they love each other so much. I some days wish we had 2 saints that way bruno would have a playmate but am glad we don't have 2 as that would mean more than 1 trip out (I would have to walk them separately due to bruno thinking the game of tug of war is fun with the leash). Bruno can be a handful too when she wants to be. Her newest thing is biting me and I am really not liking it one bit :(.

My co-worker is the foster mom of the beagles. They are the cutest things and very friendly. I actually wanted one but my other dog, a female Jack didn't agree to it.

SMAWL took in several promising applications. The beaglets were soooo cute! One looked like he was mixed with Chihuahua. All the dogs were well behaved; though we had a few piddles on the floor :whistle: Can't blame them for not wanting to go outside!

Baxter has a 2nd meeting next weekend. The first meeting went wonderful and if Baxter follows through he'll be living good life with his own home (much like Darla) in north west DC. He actually had two great applications last week but the first one really hit it off with him last Sunday at Pepper's.

Baxter was found 1 year ago today.
