Besides atrocious spelling, many people add "S" to words and places that aren't correct. LymeS disease, SmileS (thrift store and food pantry) and this morning I saw someone refer to the Spot thrift store as SpotS.

So many people say "I seen". It really sounds uneducated and ignorant. I also despise "no problem" and "have a good one". And what's with "I appreciate you?" said to strangers lately?

Now, I am certainly not the most educated person in the room but I like to think I am literate and can spell correctly. Though my sentence forms and punctuation may need some work, I try hard to not sound stoopid

What say you??

That could just be a shortened version of "Spot's place" where the apostrophe was dropped.

So many people say "I seen".
The one that gets me, and I'm hearing more and more, is something like, "It needs replaced."
No. "It needs to be replaced." or "It needs replacing."

It is called the SPOT thrift shop and they provide money for spaying and neutering. Spot is not a dog.
Yes, I have also heard people drop "to be" as in "it needs fixed".

Grammar, spelling and punctuation errors drive me nuts.

I ain't got none.
I don't got none.
I don't no nothing bout nothing.

Another one that bothers me is "I got one" instead of "I have got one" or "I have one". Punctuationless texts are in a class of their own.

When someone says Thank you, I usually say you're welcome. I was raised with manners!
It annoys me to hear Mom's say to kids (that are old enough that they shouldn't have to be prompted) "what do you say?"
I worked at the Marketplace on Sunday and had the nicest, most polite young man as a customer. He had $20 to spend on baseball cards and was with his grandfather. My guess is he was about 7 or 8. I asked where he went to school and he said Calverton and I looked at the Grandfather and said "it shows". Private school and probably good parenting along with a cool Grandpa. Win!

When someone says "I seen it" I want to slap them. Son does it all the time. He thinks it's funny. He just does it to f with me. He knows better.
When I speak to someone and they say "no problem" when calling or asking a question, I WANT to tell them the answer is "my pleasure" or thank you. I blame this on laziness. I'm not the smartest person in the room either, but I do have basic manners.
