We went for a ride today for about a half hour. I did that thing you said with banging the shifter down all the way and I FOUND NEUTRAL. Course, I didn't need it until I got in the driveway, backing it into the garage, but now I can find it. Thanks! I actually got up to 35 today, but my hands were freezing after about 30 minutes (I didin't have the right gloves on, so I think I need a pair of gloves under my gloves). My thing I have to work on now is getting going after stopping, when I am making a turn. I am very hesitant and kind of drag my leg until I get it going. I'll work on that. Thanks again for the advice......

:yay:

I think you are thinking about it too much. Just gas and go. Once you get the bike rolling just retract the gear and go, stop thinking so much about it.

I'm starting out too slow is what I think. I need to make the decision, then put the throttle on and just go. Hubby is behind me, thinking I'm gonna go and then I just ease on out with the left leg hanging. This is the next thing I am going to work on, even if it is just out of my driveway.

But the banging down on the gears thing was great - I thought about it when I pulled into the driveway and was thinking, I'm never gonna get this biatch into neutral and then I just did it and I was thinking the entire time what you told me. Now I'm starting to remember what gear I am in, also. I had sooooo much fun today. I can't wait until it warms up......

Yeah, just commit and go. Don't ease into it .

I forget what gear I am in sometimes. I am cruising along and try to upshift again. :lmao:

I haven't gone past 3rd gear yet. 35 is my fastest speed down Town Creek Drive. Hubby is already saying I'll need a bigger bike. Think I'll just stick with this for a year or so.
