Cliff notes.
Back when a Vh-1 contest bought one of every model year Corvette, and gave them away to one guy in a contest. Within a year, famed artist Peter Max bought them all to use in an art project. Thankfully, that never happened, but for the next 30 years, the cars did nothing but gather dust in New York City parking garage or another. He kept them under his apartment building until residents complained he had a whole basement level to himself, so they were moved, which moved caused some of the older cars to get damaged, since moves just pushed hard on the fiberglass bumpers.
Now, I'm not a huge Vette fan, but this story has been sad. Til now. They have all been bought and they will all be restored.
