The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Suitland in November. One of the suspects is 30-year-old Francis Holmes Jr. of Temple Hills. He is charged with the murder of 30-year-old Brian Speaks of Suitland. Detectives also arrested 28-year-old Marquis Anbaz. She is charged with accessory after the fact.

On November 15, 2024, at approximately 5:45 pm, officers responded to the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim inside of an apartment building suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Holmes as the shooter and obtained a warrant for his arrest. The preliminary investigation revealed Holmes shot the victim over a dispute the victim had with a third person. That third person is known to the suspect. At this time, it does not appear Holmes knew the victim prior to the shooting. The preliminary investigation also revealed Anbaz conspired with Holmes to hide the gun after the murder. Holmes and Anbaz are in a relationship.

Holmes is charged with first and second degree murder and other related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. Anbaz is charged with accessory after the fact. This remains an open and active investigation.
