PGPD PGPD Attempts to Identify Suspect of a Fatal Shooting in the City of Hyattsville

The Prince George’s County Police Department is asking for our community’s help in locating a suspect who fatally shot a man Thursday afternoon in the city of Hyattsville. The victim is 20-year-old Darrion Herring of Hyattsville. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On August 18, 2022, at approximately 4:00 pm, officers with the City of Hyattsville and Prince George’s County Police responded to the 3500 block of East West Highway in the city of Hyattsville for a report of a shooting. Herring was discovered at the food court in a mall suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.


Investigative developments led detectives to identify the pictured individual as a suspect in the shooting.
