PGPD PGPD Charges Suspect in Capitol Heights Fatal Shooting

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a recent fatal shooting. The suspect is 23-year-old Zarkee Bembo-Wilson of Capitol Heights. He is charged with fatally shooting 41-year-old Airmus Dillard of Capitol Heights.

On March 5, 2024, at approximately 6:25 pm, officers responded to the 300 block Cedarleaf Avenue in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, they located Dillard suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died several hours later.

The preliminary investigation revealed Bembo-Wilson and Dillard were known to each other and were involved in an ongoing dispute.

The PGPD’s Fugitive Unit located and arrested Bembo-Wilson on Tuesday. He is in custody at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. He is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.
