PGPD PGPD Charges Suspect in Domestic-Related Murder in Town of Colmar Manor

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a suspect in connection with a domestic-related murder in the town of Colmar Manor. The suspect is 56-year-old Luis Novoa of the 4000 block of Lawrence Street in Colmar Manor. The victim is his wife, 50-year-old Florentina Maldonado of Colmar Manor.



On July 18, 2021, at approximately 10:55 am, officers with the Colmar Manor Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to the family’s home in the 4000 block of Lawrence Street. The victim was located suffering from multiple stab wounds. She died a short time later at a hospital.



The suspect was taken into custody on the scene shortly after the murder. The preliminary investigation revealed he stabbed the victim during an argument. He has admitted to the stabbing.



Novoa is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.



The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all murders that occur in the town of Colmar Manor.
