PGPD PGPD Homicide Unit Investigating Fatal Shooting in Lewisdale

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Lewisdale. The victim is 35-year-old Henry Javier Cruz of Gaithersburg. A second man was also shot. He remains hospitalized with critical injuries.



On March 23, 2021, at approximately 8:10 pm, officers responded to the 7400 block of West Park Drive for a reported shooting. The officers located both victims in the roadway. Cruz was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim was transported to a hospital.



Investigators are working to determine a motive and identify suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
