PGPD PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Bowie

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is working to determine the cause of a fatal collision on Monday in Bowie. Investigators are working to identify the deceased passenger and notify the family.


On November 16th, at approximately 5:00 am, officers responded to the 10300 block of Martin Luther King Jr Highway for a single-vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver was traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when for reasons which remain under investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle, entered the westbound lanes and struck a guardrail.
One of the passengers was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene. The driver and two additional passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
