PGPD PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Cheverly

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening in Cheverly. The victim is 33-year-old Javonte Boddie of Clinton.

On February 25, 2022, at approximately 5:20 pm, officers responded to Kenilworth Avenue at Lydell Road for a two-vehicle collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed Boddie was driving a vehicle southbound on Kenilworth Avenue, when for reasons that are under investigation, he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, and ultimately struck another vehicle traveling northbound on Kenilworth Avenue. Boddie was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
