The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Largo that took place on December 16th. The victim is 23-year-old Lorenzo Slaughter of Northeast, Washington D.C. He died from his injuries on December 17th.
On December 16th, at approximately 8:00 pm, patrol officers were called to Harry S. Truman Drive at New Orchard Drive for a single-vehicle collision.
The preliminary investigation reveals Slaughter was a passenger in a SUV traveling southbound on Harry S. Truman Drive. For reasons which remain under investigation, the driver lost control of the SUV which ultimately struck a tree. Slaughter was critically injured and was transported to the hospital. The driver suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
