The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday morning in Springdale. The deceased driver’s name will be released once her identity is confirmed and her family is notified.
On January 23, 2022, at approximately 7:05 am, officers responded to Martin Luther King, Jr Highway at Whitfield Chapel Road. The preliminary investigation revealed the deceased driver was traveling westbound on Martin Luther King, Jr Highway when for reasons that are under investigation, her car left the roadway, struck a sign and trees and caught on fire. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. There were no other occupants in the car.
