PGPD PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in the City of Hyattsville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in the City of Hyattsville on Sunday morning. The victim is 23-year-old Matthew Thomas Sullivan of Huntingtown, MD.

On November 9th, at approximately 2:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 3400 block of Purdue Street for a vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation reveals Sulllivan’s SUV struck multiple parked and unoccupied cars before his SUV caught fire. Sullivan suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators are working to determine what caused the victim to strike the parked cars.
