The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Monday morning in Upper Marlboro. The deceased driver is 28-year-old Travone Monroe of Hyattsville.
On November 22, 2021, at approximately 5:25 am, officers responded to the intersection of S. Osborne Road and Farm Road for a collision involving two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed Monroe was traveling southbound on S. Osborne Road prior to the crash. For reasons now under investigation, he crossed the double yellow line into the northbound lane and struck a pickup truck head on. Monroe was transported to a hospital where he died a short time later. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a hospital with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
