Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday. The victim is 24-year-old Briah Jackson of Laurel.
On April 27th, at approximately 5:35 pm, officers responded to an area hospital for the report of two walk-in shooting victims. The subsequent investigation revealed Jackson and the second victim, an adult male, had been shot while sitting in a car in the 8200 block of Gorman Avenue in Laurel. Jackson died of her injuries this morning. The second victim is being treated for his injuries.
Detectives are actively working to identify suspect(s) and determine a motive for this shooting.
