PGPD PGPD Investigates Fatal Shooting in the City of Hyattsville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in the city of Hyattsville Friday evening. The victim is identified as 22-year-old Daquan Dockery of Washington, DC. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On March 25, 2022, at approximately 6:30 pm, officers with the Hyattsville City Police Department and Prince George’s County Police Department responded to a shooting inside of the Mall at Prince George’s in the 3500 block of East-West Highway. The victim was located inside of a store suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are actively working to determine a motive and arrest the suspect(s) who fled the mall after the shooting. No one else is reported injured.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the city of Hyattsville.
