PGPD PGPD Investigates Fatal Shooting

Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in Landover. The deceased victim is 27-year-old Michael Shipman Jr. of Washington, DC.


On December 31, 2024, at approximately 8:10 pm, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 7500 block of Landover Road. Officers located Shipman Jr. inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. An adult female was also found with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
