PGPD PGPD Investigates Homicide in Langley Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide in Langley Park on Saturday. The victim is 33-year-old Rene Orlando Lopezof no fixed address.

On October 19th, at approximately 2:15 pm, patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of Merrimac Drive for a report of an injured person. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim unresponsive inside an apartment building suffering from trauma to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are actively working to determine a motive and identify suspect(s).
