PGPD PGPD Investigates Homicide in Town of Capitol Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the town of Capitol Heights on Tuesday night. Investigators are working to determine the victim’s identity so his family can be notified.

On May 14th, at approximately 10:20 pm, a car fire was reported on Akin Avenue in Capitol Heights. The victim was discovered inside of the car once the flames were extinguished. The victim was badly burned.

An autopsy conducted on May 15th revealed the victim was also suffering from a gunshot wound. His manner of death was ruled a homicide. The Prince Georges County Police Department's Homicide Unit investigates all homicides in the town of Capitol Heights.
