The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit continues to work to identify the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened over the weekend.
The preliminary investigation revealed that on September 21st, at approximately 3:00 am, an Infinity sedan was traveling on Pennsylvania Avenue just after Quarter Avenue. For reasons that are under investigation, the driver lost control and struck several trees. The car then became engulfed in flames. When patrol officers arrived on scene, the driver was still trapped inside and died at the scene. The driver suffered severe burns. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
