The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left the four occupants dead. This crash occurred at approximately 10:30 pm in the 5800 block of Sheriff Road.
The victims are identified as 35-year-old Samuel Moss of James Farmer Way in Capitol Heights, 24-year-old Shyra Harris of Lorring Drive in District Heights, 27-year-old Antonio Price also of Lorring Drive and 21-year-old Jasmine Davis of Mentor Avenue in District Heights.
The investigation into this collision will likely take weeks to months to complete. The preliminary investigation is suggesting the SUV was westbound on Sheriff Road approaching a car that was making a left turn. The driver of the involved SUV swerved to go around that car and lost control. The SUV struck a curb, rolled over and ultimately struck an electrical pole. Two of the occupants were ejected from the SUV.
Preliminary, investigators are looking at speed as a possible major contributing factor in this crash.
