PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Adelphi

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Adelphi. The victim is 75-year-old Shufang Wu of Edwards Way in Hyattsville.


On January 6th, at approximately 3:30 pm, patrol officers were called to New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road for a collision. They located the victim suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene.


The preliminary investigation reveals the involved car was traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue approaching a green traffic signal at Metzerott Road. The victim was crossing northbound New Hampshire Avenue at Metzerott Road when she was struck. Preliminarily, it does not appear she was in a crosswalk. The involved driver remained on the scene.
