PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Capitol Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early Tuesday morning in Capitol Heights. The victim is 30-year-old Damika Brinkley of an unknown address.

On June 9th, at about 12:30 am, patrol officers were called to Kenilworth Avenue near John Hanson Highway for a report of a pedestrian collision.

The preliminary investigation revealedBrinkley was attempting to cross Kenilworth Avenue, when for reasons that remain under investigation, was struck by a car traveling southbound on Kenilworth Avenue. Brinkley was then struck again by two additional vehicles. Brinkley was pronounced dead on the scene. All three involved vehicles remained on the scene. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was not in a crosswalk when she was struck.
