The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in the City of Hyattsville. The deceased pedestrian is 61-year-old Helen Jorgensen of Hyattsville.
On August 13, 2021, at approximately 10:00 pm, officers with the Hyattsville City Police Department responded to a pedestrian collision in the 5600 block of Ager Road.
The preliminary investigation suggests Jorgensen was crossing Ager Road in a crosswalk when she was struck in the northbound lanes. Jorgensen was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
The striking vehicle was on the scene when investigators arrived.
