PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in District Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a collision involving a pedestrian in District Heights late Saturday night. Investigators are working to identify the adult male victim. His name will be released once he is identified and his family is notified.

On September 7th, at approximately 11:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5900 block of Silver Hill Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. They located the pedestrian suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on
the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was attempting to cross the street midblock when he was struck by a Mercedes travelling southbound on Silver Hill Road. The initial collision caused the victim to fall to the ground. He was
then struck a second time by an SUV which was unable to avoid striking the victim. Both drivers were uninjured and remained on the scene. Investigators are working to determine circumstances leading up to the collision.
