PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision Involving PGPD Officer

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal pedestrian collision in Langley Park. The name of the deceased pedestrian will be released once his family has been notified. The striking driver was an on-duty PGPD officer driving an unmarked police vehicle. The officer was not responding to a call for service or traveling priority.



On November 23, 2020, at approximately 9:00 pm, patrol officers were called to a report of a pedestrian collision in the area of University Boulevard and 15th Avenue.





The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was struck as he tried to cross University Boulevard. The officer was traveling westbound on University Boulevard at the time of the collision. The officer was not hurt.
