PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in District Heights

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are working to arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man Sunday evening in District Heights. The victim is 28-year-old Shakir Taylor of District Heights.

On September 12, 2021, at approximately 8:30 pm, patrol officers responded to the 2000 block of Addison Road South for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located Taylor inside of a SUV suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals one other adult male and a juvenile was also shot during this incident. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

During the investigation, detectives determined the shooting took place in the 7400 block of Marlboro Pike.

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify the suspect(s) in the case.
