The Homicide Unit is actively working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man Saturday evening in Temple Hills. The victim is 71-year-old Abdul Rauf Khan of Springfield, Virginia. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On February 26, 2022, at approximately 5:30 pm, patrol officers responded to the 3700 block of Dunlap Street for a welfare check. The victim was located outside in a roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died several hours later at a hospital.
The preliminary investigation revealed Khan was operating as a rideshare driver at the time of the murder. The suspect(s) shot the victim and stole his vehicle.
