Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the City of Hyattsville early Thursday morning. The victim is 38-year-old Dante Campbell of Hyattsville. Preliminarily, this does not appear to be a random shooting.
On August 1st, at approximately 3:40 am, officers with the City of Hyattsville Police Department responded to the 4600 block of Burlington Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, the officers discovered Campbell outside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.
Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s).
