PGPD PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances of a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday. The decedent is 57-year-old Joseph Campbell of Upper Marlboro.

On November 19, 2024, at approximately 8:55 am, officers responded to a shooting in the 14200 block of Barenton Drive in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The decedent was located inside of a garage suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.



The preliminary investigation revealed the Campbell and the man who shot him are known to each other. The man remained on the scene after the shooting. Detectives are in consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding this active investigation. At this time, there have been no charges filed in this case.
