Prince George’s County Police detectives are actively investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday in Capitol Heights. The victim is identified as 51-year-old Kim Gooden of Capitol Heights. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On August 14th, at approximately 11:45 am, patrol officers responded to the 4100 block of Southern Avenue in Capitol Heights for a welfare check. When officers entered the home, they located Gooden on the floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this fatal shooting.
