Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning. The victim is 26-year-old Davion Brandon of Curtis Drive in Suitland. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On June 1st, at approximately 1:30 am, officers on patrol discovered a car idling in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue. The officers discovered Brandon and a second person inside of the car suffering from gunshots wounds. The officers called for emergency medical personnel and then immediately began to render aid to both victims. Brandon was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim suffered critical injuries and remains hospitalized.
Detectives are actively working to identify suspect(s) and determine a motive for this fatal shooting.
