The Homicide Unit is actively working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man overnight in Oxon Hill. The victim is 24-year-old Ravond Simms of Ivanhoe Street in Southwest Washington, DC. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On May 7th, at approximately 12:00 am, patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of Kenmont Road for the report of a shooting. They located the victim on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. He taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.
