PGPD PGPD Investigating Homicide in the City of Mount Rainier

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a homicide in the City of Mount Rainier. The victim is 20-year-old Hosheyah Smith of Glenn Dale.

On July 10, 2019, at approximately 6:05 pm, PGPD Detectives were called to respond to an area hospital for a walk-in shooting victim who they later identified as Smith. The subsequent investigation established Smith had been shot near the intersection of 37th and Shepherd streets in Mount Rainier.
Smith was taken to the hospital where, despite all life saving efforts, he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to establish a motive in this case.
