The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information on a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in Suitland. The deceased pedestrian is 43-year-old Timothy Dewayne Rice of District Heights.

On January 6, 2021, at about 4:25 am, patrol officers were called to the 4600 block of Allentown Road for a report of a pedestrian collision. Once on scene, they discovered Rice unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Not Actual Car

The preliminary investigation revealed a car traveling northbound on Allentown Road struck Rice in the roadway. That vehicle did not remain on the scene. The striking car is described as a dark metallic gray 2016-2018 Nissan Sentra. During the collision, the car lost its front grille, driver’s side fog light cover, left fender undercarriage and has damage on its left fender and bumper by the tire. Preliminarily, investigators do not believe Rice was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
