The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information on a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run that occurred in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville last week. The deceased pedestrian is 47-year-old Constance Asanansi of Hyattsville.

On October 7, 2021, at approximately 7:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 6500 block of Ager Road near 19th Place for a pedestrian collision. Once on scene, officers located the victim unresponsive in the roadway. She was taken to a hospital where she died on October 11, 2021.

The preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Ager Road struck Asanansi in the roadway. The striking driver did not remain on the scene. Preliminarily, it appears the victim was attempting to cross the roadway at the time and was not in a crosswalk. The striking vehicle is described as a dark-colored, four-door sedan.
