PGPD PGPD Searching for Driver & Van That Struck Elderly Pedestrian

Investigators with the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are asking the community to assist in our search for the driver and van that struck a pedestrian on Monday. The pedestrian, an 85-year-old man, suffered critical injuries and remains hospitalized.

On August 26th, at approximately 6:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 3400 block of Bladensburg Road. The victim was found in the roadway and was rushed to the hospital. The striking driver was not on the scene when officers arrived. It is possible the driver did not know he or she struck the victim.

Evidence left at the scene – a driver’s side mirror - indicates the striking vehicle is a 2015-2019 Ford Transit van. The color is unknown. It is possible the van has other minor damage to the driver’s side front corner.
