Photo opportunity

If the weather clears tonight, it will be a great time to take a picture of the Moon Venus and Jupiter. I wonder if anyone will even notice it. Time to get out the tripod.

I walked outside the other night, I think Wed. or Thurs., and saw two very bright stars right above the other. I stood outside and watched it for a minute to make sure it wasn't a plane. Never seen it before.

The brightest of the two was Venus and the other slightly dimmer one was Jupiter (unless of course you were looking in the wrong direction and it was an airplane) tonight the moon will join the pair.

Love the way the clouds add color and perspective.

This is what I saw, I knew it wasn't a plane because I actually stood out there for a few minutes to make sure it wasn't moving.

I took a couple shots at home but the trees were in the way. Then I left and went up the street to the school and got a few. Came home and hubby asked why I didn't go down to Solomons. So back in the car I went but it was so cold and windy I don't think I got any good shots. Uploading them now.

I was out working in the yard, saw the moon rise and the planets and continued working and came in for soup...realized that the moon was still out and setting
Went back out and it had dipped between the distant trees....
I looked like a crazy lady walking back and forth in the back yard trying to get a shot thru the trees!!!!

I like you second shot of the near 3D new moon...very nice!!!!

Nice photos everyone! The view was quite beautiful. I took a few shots, havent pulled them from the card yet though.
