ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan, chairman of the National Governors Association (NGA), today joined Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, and leading infrastructure resilience experts in Detroit for a bipartisan summit focused on protecting America’s critical infrastructure by strengthening security and resiliency. This is the latest in a series of U.S. summits that Governor Hogan is leading as part of his national infrastructure initiative, Foundation for Success.

“While no public policy can prevent all disasters, governors and leaders across America can show real leadership, and work together to find innovative new ways to withstand disasters better, and to respond and recover more quickly,” said Governor Hogan. “Throughout this bipartisan summit, we discussed the most effective measures that governors can take to fulfill our most important responsibility: protecting our states and our citizens.”

Since assuming the NGA chairmanship in Salt Lake City in July, Governor Hogan has convened an infrastructure summit in Boston and an international study trip to Australia that focused on the pillars of his national initiative. In 2020, he will hold national summits planned for San Francisco and Phoenix in addition to international delegations planned for Canada and Japan.
