ANNAPOLIS, MD—During a visit to Western Maryland, Governor Larry Hogan today toured an Allegany County vaccination clinic for local high school students. UPMC Western Maryland and the Allegany County Health Department hosted the clinic, which administered 100 first doses of the Pfizer vaccine at Greenway Avenue Stadium, outside Fort Hill High School.
“As part of our ‘No Arm Left Behind’ initiative, we want to make sure that every Marylander who wants a vaccine can get access to one as quickly as possible, including high school students across the state,” said Governor Hogan. “The fastest way to put this pandemic behind us is for every single eligible Marylander to get vaccinated as quickly as possible.”
UPMC Western Maryland will hold a second clinic on Friday, May 21 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Students under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian present at their vaccine appointment.
Marylanders who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to visit any one of the 3,000 points of distribution across the state, directly schedule an appointment by visiting covidvax.maryland.gov, or by calling 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).
