Pickle recipes?

We've got some extra cucumbers and would like to attempt to make pickles for the first time. Any of you have some favorite recipes? (Dill, sweet, bread & butter...) Remember, we're first-timers, so be specific!
Any tips would be appreciated!

Here's a great website for pickling tips
How to make pickles - made easy, and illustrated!

I know Wal*Mart has had some pickling spices.

The only difference from the link I make is after Step 3. Then I soak the cucumbers overnight in the fridge in a 1/2 gallon of water to 1/3 cup canning salt ratio.

Make sure you use canning salt, not sea salt, table salt, et al.

Then if I have it, I'll add some fresh sprigs of dill in each canning jar prior to placing the sliced pickles in.

If You Like Them A Little Spicy, Try Adding 2 To 3 Jalapeno Peppers In The Brine Along With A Ffew Cloves Of Garlic. This Is For Kosher Dill Pickles And Also You Can Use The Recipe For Green Pickled Tomatoe's, But Make Sure They Are Hard And Green And Have Not Started To Turn Ripe. This Also Works For Pickling Jalapeno Peppers.

Well, we made 11 pints of dill pickles and 6 pints of bread and butter pickles. Can't open the dill for 8 weeks, but plan to try the bread and butter tonight. A little worried about the bread and butter pickles being too salty, but we'll see. Thanks for the advice and I'll let you know how they turned out! Pickling a couple jars of okra tonight...
